Q. iPad and Mac aren't auto-connecting.

Make sure both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network. On the Mac control panel, click "Start Session" — a 6-character session code appears. Enter that code on the iPad or wait for auto-discovery. If mDNS is blocked (corporate Wi-Fi, captive portals), Cloud Relay automatically takes over.

Q. Can I sync across different networks (e.g., 3G/LTE tethering)?

Yes. Even if the Mac and iPad are on different networks, Cloud Relay (wss://eventwatch-relay.onoffmix.workers.dev) automatically takes over and connects them through the same session code.

Q. My Apple Watch keeps disconnecting during a talk.

Apple Watch syncs via the paired iPhone. The iPhone must keep this app in the foreground for 1+ hour of uninterrupted operation (WKExtendedRuntimeSession guarantees this). If the iPhone is locked, the Watch will show the last-known state for a short cycle only.

Q. How does the presenter signal "talk is done"?

Enable Practice Mode in presentation mode. A "Talk Complete" button appears automatically once you go past the target time, letting the presenter declare the end of their talk.

Q. I can't hear alert sounds.

Check Silent Mode and notification volume on the iPhone/iPad. Apple Watch uses haptic (vibration) only — no sound playback.

Q. Where do I download the Mac desktop app?

Get it as a separate download from apps.onoffmix.com. The app distributed via the App Store is for iPad, iPhone, and Apple Watch only.

Q. What languages are supported?

Korean, English, Japanese, Chinese, German, French (6 languages). The app auto-selects based on your iOS system language.

Q. What about privacy and data collection?

The app does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Q. What data is stored on the device?

Only the last session code, relay URL, app mode, and timer target settings are stored on-device. All of it is removed when you uninstall the app.
